That you really are the person you hoped you’d be
That the things you told yourself you didn’t need
Were fundamental truths from a changed heart
And not the lamentations of a spurned one
When this life offers you opportunity to prove
You will feel that solitary triumph
No one knows of the tension held so long, even you forgot it was there
It was true
Oh, it was true all along
This is what it feels like to know
They were not just words
